About

Joy Oseko, a remarkable talent, and integral part of our dance family. Born on January 28, 2002, in Nairobi, Kenya, Joy is the vibrant fourth child in a family of six. Her roots trace back to Nyamira in Kisii County, where she began her educational journey at Utafiti Day and Boarding Primary School before advancing to Butere Girls High School from 2016 to 2019.

Joy's passion for dance was ignited during high school through various competitions, leading her to explore the dance world further. From 2021 to 2024, she pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Mathematics at the University of Nairobi. It was at university where Joy’s dance journey truly flourished. She joined the school's travelling theatre, diving into Latin dance, Salsa, and Cha-Cha, and made her stage debut at the 2022 Kenya National Drama Festivals in Mombasa.

Her artistic journey continued with Unlock Arts Kenya, where she graced stages at Kenya National Theatre, Ukumbi Mdogo, and the Somali Heritage Week. In August 2022, Joy joined Blingers Empire, where she honed her skills in contemporary dance, ballet, jazz, tap dance, hip hop, and salsa, while also delving into gymnastics.

As a professional ballet teacher with two years of experience at Blingers Empire, Joy has passionately dedicated herself to both learning and teaching dance. Her diverse performance experience includes featuring in Baraka Musiq’s music video “Nyumbani,” taking the stage at Teardrop’s event, and performing Joan Sikand’s “Peace and Love” poetry.

Joy's journey embodies the spirit of perseverance and growth in the world of dance. At Blingers Empire, we celebrate her dedication to mastering the art form and sharing her knowledge with aspiring dancers.
